Where Blue Ribbons, Community Traditions, and Family Memories Come Together

High Points

A Celebration of Crook County

Every August, the Crook County Fairgrounds becomes the gathering place for one of the county’s most anticipated traditions.

Blue Ribbon Days celebrates the people, talents, and agricultural heritage that have shaped Crook County for generations. Families return year after year to reconnect with neighbors, enjoy great food, experience live entertainment, cheer on local exhibitors, and make new memories together.

With FREE admission, FREE parking, and live music each evening beginning at 6:30 p.m., it’s easy to spend an entire day exploring everything the fair has to offer.

Blue Ribbons Begin Long Before Fair Week

Behind every ribbon is a story. Months before the fair opens, local youth begin raising livestock, caring for animals, practicing showmanship, and preparing for competition through 4-H and FFA programs. Artists spend countless hours creating. Gardeners carefully tend their flowers and vegetables. Beekeepers harvest honey. Home cooks perfect baked goods and preserves. Photographers capture unforgettable moments. Woodworkers, quilters, crafters, and hobbyists all prepare entries in hopes of earning one of the fair’s coveted Blue Ribbons.

The Crook County Fair celebrates not only the finished project—but the dedication, learning, and pride behind it.

A Community That Invests in Its Youth

One of the most meaningful traditions of Blue-Ribbon Days comes at the close of the fair. The annual Junior Livestock Auction brings together local businesses, ranchers, families, and community members to purchase livestock raised by area youth. For many exhibitors, it represents the culmination of months of hard work, responsibility, and commitment. For buyers, it’s an opportunity to invest directly in the next generation while supporting agriculture and youth development throughout Crook County. It’s one of the many reasons this fair means so much to the community.
