Welcome to the Christmas in the Pines Heritage PATHWAY.
What began more than thirteen years ago with just a handful of holiday decorations has grown into one of Central Oregon’s most beloved Christmas traditions. Every holiday season, thousands of visitors travel to Prineville to experience the Parade of Lights at the Crook County Fairgrounds, creating memories that span generations.
Behind every display is a remarkable story of community. Visionaries like Casey Daly and Beth Grimes planted the first seeds. Debbie Smith, affectionately known as “Velcro,” inspired volunteers with her unwavering belief and contagious enthusiasm. Board member Stanley Flynn helped establish the nonprofit foundation, while dedicated volunteers like Marianne Karbaugh, Marilyn Malloy, and Nora Morris each left their own lasting mark on the event.
Christmas in the Pines is more than a holiday light display.
It is a celebration of generosity, volunteerism, and the enduring spirit of a community that comes together each year to create something unforgettable. As you explore this Heritage PATHWAY, discover the people whose vision continues to brighten Christmas for thousands of families every season.
