City of Prineville: Resolute and Focused

The City of Prineville is structured with a mayor and city council, supported by various commissions and departments like Community Development and Planning, which manage growth. Prineville's economy has shifted to one anchored by a growing technology sector, small manufacturing and tourism, leading to infrastructure investments to support the population growth. The city is balancing economic development with a desire to preserve its "small town feel".

Crook County – One LARGE County

Located in the geographic center of Oregon, the county has a total area of 2,987 square miles, with a large portion being public land. The county was established from Wasco County in 1882. Its original size was larger, but it was reduced with the creation of Jefferson County in 1914 and Deschutes County in 1916. Crook County is governed by a three-member Board of Commissioners, which has legislative and budget oversight.
