High Points

At the heart of Prineville, there’s a place where connection matters just as much as care—and where no senior is ever meant to feel alone or forgotten. The Prineville Senior Center exists for one simple reason: to support, nourish, and celebrate the lives of Crook County seniors.

Every year, more than 30,000 meals are prepared and delivered to local seniors, ensuring that neighbors who helped build this community never have to worry about going hungry. Behind each delivery is a friendly face, a brief conversation, and a reminder that someone cares. Volunteers make this possible, giving whatever time they can—whether that’s once a week or once a month—to help deliver meals and brighten a day.

But the Senior Center is more than a meal program. It’s the community’s senior “clubhouse”—a place to gather, move, laugh, and belong. From line dancing and cornhole to pool, ping pong, and card games like bridge, cribbage, and pinochle, there’s always something happening. Chair exercise classes keep bodies moving, while monthly chair massage, foot care by appointment, and access to legal guidance support overall well-being. Each month ends with birthday celebrations, a special lunch, and live music from the Just for Fun Band—because joy matters at every age.

If you are 60 or older, like to eat a freshly prepared meal for lunch, are looking for an opportunity to participate in activities with others, or just want to make some new friends, please come join us. Lunch is served Monday-Friday at noon so come a little early to get your seat.

Shop to Support

Partial operational funding comes from Neat Repeat, Prineville’s community thrift store, owned and operated by the Prineville Senior Center Charitable Trust. Every dollar spent there directly supports the Prineville Senior Center and its mission to care for and feed local seniors, turning everyday shopping into meaningful impact.

Other funding comes from our partnership with the Council on Aging who distributes funds for our food program, provided by the federal government through the Older Americans Act. In addition, we actively seek grant monies, and we receive monetary and meat donations from our community, private donors, and the seniors who frequent the senior center. It is important to note that we do not receive any support from city or county tax revenues. With the uncertainty of government programs, now more than ever, community and donor support has become increasingly important.

The Prineville Senior Center is proof that a strong community takes care of its own—from shared meals and shared laughter to shared responsibility. It’s a place where purpose, compassion, and connection live every day.
