There is something about walking into Vintiques & Old Paint that makes you want to slow down. Maybe it is the antique furniture. The vintage jewelry tucked inside a display case. A piece of cowboy gear that looks like it has already lived a few stories. Or sunlight catching one of the crystal suncatchers hanging beneath the skylight. Now Vintiques is beginning another story of its own.
Under new owner Adrienne Rymer, this women-owned downtown Prineville business is keeping the antiques, vintage character and treasure-hunting experience customers have long enjoyed while introducing some fresh discoveries along the way. Houseplants, custom faux-floral creations, seasonal décor and locally handmade pieces now mingle among the antiques.
The past still has a home here. There’s simply something new growing alongside it.

The Treasure Hunt Is Still On
Antiques remain at the heart of Vintiques. The selection changes, which means the store you visit this month may look a little different the next time you walk through the door. Antique and refreshed furniture share space with vintage collectibles, jewelry, wall art, lighting and pieces that are simply difficult to categorize.
Keep an eye out for the cowboy gear, too. Those pieces connect naturally with Central Oregon’s ranching heritage—and when a good one arrives, it may not stay around long. That’s part of antique shopping.
If something speaks to you, don’t assume it’ll be waiting next time.
Something New Is Growing
Among all those pieces from the past, Adrienne has added something decidedly alive. Houseplants. Potted and ready to go home, they can become part of a table arrangement, centerpiece, shelf or that empty corner that has been waiting for something green. It’s a simple addition, but somehow plants and vintage surroundings seem perfectly comfortable together.
Florals Without the Expiration Date
You’ll also find Adrienne’s custom faux-floral wreaths and arrangements throughout the store. Colors and designs shift with the seasons, giving customers another reason to see what’s new throughout the year. And if you have a particular space, season or idea in mind, Adrienne welcomes custom orders. Sometimes the right piece isn’t something you find. It’s something you have made for you.
The Tattered Cottage Has a New Home
Anyone familiar with The Tattered Cottage may recognize another familiar creative touch inside Vintiques. Sheryl is back in business, bringing her handmade, vintage-inspired shabby-chic creations into the store. Her work is known for creativity, detail and the unmistakable sense that someone actually cared about making it. For Adrienne, having Sheryl at Vintiques means even more. Over the years, Sheryl has become a valued part of Prineville’s boutique community as well as a mentor and friend. Now The Tattered Cottage adds another layer of local creativity to the Vintiques experience.
